I hope you will use some of these tips as they have proven useful to me in the past years.  I update variously so check back whenever.

Paint

I have 1 painting tip at this time

For those who love to put flames on their model cars, this one is for you.  I have tried various tips until I found this one worked preferably good.  For any car you are building, make sure the paint is dry and clear of flakes and bumps.  First, draw your flame design on a piece of tissue paper with a Sharpie or permanent marker.  Second, color in all areas you feel need to be colored to get the right effect.  Third, cut off any remaining tissue paper from the outside of the design.  Forth, get a cup of luke warm water and place it next to your modle car you are putting the flames on.  Fifth, place the tissue paper inthe luke warm water for 10 seconds or until fully moist all around and place wet tissue paper on the designated spot on the model.  Sixth, gently tap the wet tissue paper with a toilet tissue, getting any standing water that might be on your model.  Wait until it dries.  Seventh, gently sand the area you put the tissue paper on, until it is soft.  There should be enought water mark from the tissue paper to tell where your flame line should go.  I call this tip basting.  If you have any questions or comments, email AKollos@msn.com with "basting" in the subject line.  Happy modeling.

Paintbrushes

There are 2 paintbrush tips as of now

I mostly use very thick paintbrushes when painting the body of the car and I get a good amount of paint on the brush.  Then you generously tap the body of the car, giving every tap the same amount of paint.  I usually do about 3/4 of the roof.  Then I use a hair-dryer and blow the paint back, making swift motions until you feel you have the right consistancy and thickness.  I call this air-flasking.  Paint any unpainted areas that might be left from the air-flasking.  If you have any questions or comments, please email me at AKollos@msn.com, with air-flasking int the subject line.

When purchasing airbrushes, check and see how wide the paint distributor hole is.  If it is too thin, you will have to wide of a paint stream.  So pick one that has a smaller hole, this will allow you to make larger motions;hense being able to paint small objects and will alow you to do custom jobs.

Misc

There is 1 tip at this time

To store your extra parts, simply go to your local hardware store (Home Depot, Menards, ACE Hardware, exc, exc.) and look for a 16 slot cabinet.  The one I use has two double slots and 14 single, allowing for the big body pieces to be put in one slot, and small engine pieces to be put in another slot.
